lyrics
this is the way this is your life now
you pinch your arm and study your words so closely
well this is your hand, this is the choice you made
cupping your hands over your mouth now
too scared to talk and you don't trust your voice
well this was the plan, and this was the road you took
listen the wind it keeps on calling, calling your name
but you don't want to listen
but you know this fate follows the path you took
look at the trees quicker they beckon
are you afraid? did you forget your reasons?
you were so bored, and your heart ached for change

This is a gorgeous album. Totally now, while reminiscent of the best pop from decades past. Beautiful echoes of St Etienne, Broadcast, Cocteau, Dubstar. Within a pop realm it holds a timeless quality, with its dreamy lo-fi pallet of sounds, infectious bass and drums, and compelling vocals. Each piece creates a world to inhabit. For me these worlds are tinged with a sort of nostalgia for a time that never really was, though they are not limited to this. I return to this album again and again. ks6bb
A collab between Jill O’Sullivan, Peter Kelly, and Andy Monaghan of Frightened Rabbit, “This Rock” is moody indie at its best. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 23, 2022
The Austin band’s fourth album feels like the bleeding edge of a breakthrough, a country-rock dream machine somewhere between a jolt and a drift. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 5, 2019
