lyrics
so you learned to throw your voice now
and speak through other people's lips
but people grow suspicious
of your true intentions
you're proud of your communication,
of hiding with faces others wear
but don't you grow so tired
of never moving your own lips

This is a gorgeous album. Totally now, while reminiscent of the best pop from decades past. Beautiful echoes of St Etienne, Broadcast, Cocteau, Dubstar. Within a pop realm it holds a timeless quality, with its dreamy lo-fi pallet of sounds, infectious bass and drums, and compelling vocals. Each piece creates a world to inhabit. For me these worlds are tinged with a sort of nostalgia for a time that never really was, though they are not limited to this. I return to this album again and again. ks6bb
A collab between Jill O’Sullivan, Peter Kelly, and Andy Monaghan of Frightened Rabbit, “This Rock” is moody indie at its best. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 23, 2022
The Austin band’s fourth album feels like the bleeding edge of a breakthrough, a country-rock dream machine somewhere between a jolt and a drift. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 5, 2019
